I am an Assistant Professor in the Department of Communication Studies at Northwestern University. My research concerns the effects of mass media, evaluation of strategic health messages, analysis of communication ecologies, the persuasive power of narratives, and correction of misinformation. My most recent work, which is supported by a Tobacco Center of Regulatory Science (TCORS) grant, focuses on novel methods to debunk tobacco-related misinformation. My studies have been published in a number of leading outlets, including the Journal of Communication, Human Communication Research, Communication Research, Mass Communication & Society, Health Communication, and the Journal of Health Communication.
